Introduction:

Craftbeauty factory has been created and developed since 2003. At the moment, our employees and workers has been up to 60 people. Our product range is various from handbags, accessories, clothes, scarf, to bedding, cushions, which beautifully crafted from intricately handmade fabrics from Vietnam: Ha Dong silk, taffeta, raw silk, fine silk or combined with velvet, brocade. All of our products have been reached all over the world such as America, UK, Spain, France, Sweden, Australia, Canada ..

Being a Fair Trade Federation member, our mission is to produce and sell Vietnamese handicraft products that are made under fair trade conditions. We aim to expand our customer base so that we can in turn expand our workshop capacity, which helps to provide more secure and decent employment opportunities to the disadvantaged women.

According to Statistic of Asian Pacific reseach Institute, the disabilities in Vietnam is up to 5.3 million people. However, among those, only small number of them, under 15%, have been trained vocational skill and have a job that earn decent income. Their desire is to find a stable jobs to feed themselves and diminish livehood burden on their families but mostly are unemployed and poor.

Purpose:
During the company development, we have found out that our handmade products are suitable for trainable persons with disabilites. With experience in management, we would like to provide life changing training in tailoring skills to them, giving them stable employment after graduation to enable to earn a decent living, gain self-confident and retain their dignity. Such will make contribution to sustain social development.


Objectives:
-Recruiting and training the people with disablities. Associating training and creating work opportunities for graduates in Craftbeauty factory.
-Training the disabled women tailoring skill, embroidery, teaching them to understand about fashion as well as be raise aware of standard criteria of exporting handmade articles to meet the demand of customers.
-Training in design input, quality control, order management and adapt to market changes.

 

Beneficiaries
The project provides access for young women with disabilities (from 18-30 years old) in the Northen provinces with vocational skills training in tailoring, embroidery as well as fashion knowledge.

Methodology:
- Recently, we have contacted Associations of the Disabled people at the Northern provinces, i.e Vinh Phuc, Phu Tho, Bac Giang, Thai Binh, Nam Dinh ... Their desire is to try to get a job for local disabilities and improve their lives.
- Craftbeauty company will receive the disabled trainee’s CV, set up training programme under direct teaching of company’s technicians on tailoring skills, using sewing machines, and expressing tradition skills of embroidery, sewing traditional dress.
- Express knowledge on designing, color combination, exporting standard criteria for them to absorb and able to produce the whole item.
- After graduation and practice, Craftbeauty company will arrange for them to work in the company. The graduates that are good evaluation will be appointed master of the group or higher position.
- Craftbeauty will ensure sufficient work and decent income for them.

SUSTAINABILITY OF THE PROJECT

This project can be developed into a sustainable one because

- Craftbeauty  company has good experience on production management.
- Customer bases are famous companies on the world like given is stable, which help to provide employment regularly. In addition, most of cutomers are fair trade members of FTF (fair trade federation), IFAT, BAFT so they understand and support developing sustainable society activities and cooperation is long-terms.

- Project feasibility is combination between training and employment, theory and pratice, helping disabled trainees have a suitable skills to adapt life reality, able to meet the demand of company as well as society.

- The company will pay contribution to national social and health insurance for them to cover medical cost and provide pension for retirement, as well as production management experience to encourage productivity helps them to earn good income and feel secure to stay in the company for long.
- Promote and encourage productivity and creation
